LAB 7 - Metabolomics: we isolate and characterize plant bioactive molecules and evaluate their potential use in nutraceutical, pharmaceutical and biomedical applications. Furtnermore, we assess the role of secondary plant metabolites as potential indicators for detecting environmental changes using plants as biosensors.

LAB 5 - Genomics: we isolate, clone and characterize plant genes by studying their expression and function. the lab is equipped with instrumentation able to evaluate and quantify the presence of recombinant genes in genetically modified foods and for the differential expression of genes using microarray gene scanning.

GEOMAGNETIC FIELD LAB - A triaxial Helmholtz coil systems allows growth and dvelopment of plants in natural conditions in a environmentally controlled room. Plants are grown in temperature and light conditions that allow seed-to-seed studies in most model plant systems.
